WEEKLY SYNDICATION RATINGS ROUNDUP

Syndies Show Some Upward Movement Again

In first-run syndication for the week ending June 11, four talkers, two courtrooms, two games and one magazine turned in ratings gains from the previous session.

Most syndicated shows were solid performers in the session ending June 11 despite heavy preemptions for coverage of former FBI Director James Comey’s Senate testimony on June 8.

At the very top of the overall chart, juggernaut Judge Judy was syndication’s highest rated show for the 10th time in the past 11 weeks, strengthening 5% to a 6.5 live-plus-same-day national Nielsen rating, even though it was in repeats for most of the week.

Reruns of Dr. Phil led the talk shows for the 40th week in a row with a steady 2.7.

The newly named Live with Kelly and Ryan held firm at a 2.1 and scored back-to-back second place finishes for the first time in a month, outperforming rival Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen recovered 11% from its season low in the prior frame to a 2.0.

Maury also showed some life, rebounding 7% from a season low to a 1.5.

Rounding out the top five were Wendy Williams, which slipped 7% to a 1.3 and Steve Harvey, which rose 8% to a 1.3. Harvey came off a new season low set the previous week, although it was still down 24% from last year.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

In access, Entertainment Tonight set the pace in the magazine world with a stable first-place 2.7. Inside Edition was next with an unchanged 2.5, followed by TMZ which sank 7% to a 1.3.

The Insider clocked the sharpest increase in the category, climbing 11% to a 1.0. The biggest decrease was a 14% decline for Dish Nation, which hit an all-time record low 0.6.
