Tribune Adds Twentieth’s Ricki Lake Show

Among the stations that will air the new talk show beginning next fall is WPIX New York.

Twentieth Television’s Ricki Lake daytime talk show has been picked up by Tribune Broadcasting for fall 2012 in several markets, including on CW affiliate WPIX New York, according to several sources.

Twentieth is selling the show to stations on a cash-plus-barter basis (11 local minutes, 4 national) for one-year deals. Twentieth will likely announce more station group clearances by early next week.

WPIX is the same station that lost Warner Bros.’s Anderson, with Anderson Cooper, Wednesday. Ricki Lake’s show, a more mature version of her old daytime talk show, should be a better transition than Anderson from the NBC Universal conflict talk shows that Tribune airs during the day and the CW network’s female-focused programming it airs in the evening.
