WTXF Philadelphia To Debut ‘The ClassH-Room’

Fox O&O WTXF Philadelphia (DMA 4) will debut The ClassH-Room, a half-hour, weekday game show, on Oct. 1.

Teacher-turned-television-personality Richard Curtis will host the program, which will pit tri-state area teachers against their students in a test of knowledge and skill, with questions and challenges related to pop culture, math, world history, science, and current events.

The winning team receives a monetary donation to the school club of their choice. The ClassH-Room will tape in front of a studio audience filled with contestants’ classmates, family and friends.

“Most television game shows are taped on one of the coasts, but The ClassH-Room actually goes one step further. It will be produced between two ‘coasts’ — the Delaware River and the Schuylkill River — where Philadelphia-area students and teachers will battle it out,” said station VP-GM Dennis Bianchi.

Richard Curtis is in his eighth year as a technology education teacher at Souderton Area High School. He rose to the national spotlight in 2016 as winner of the Live With Kelly co-host competition. After hosting multiple episodes, Curtis began working with various television outlets, including WTXF on Good Day Philadelphia. He is also the host of Varsity Spirits National Dance Championships on ESPN/ESPN2 and CBS Sports.
