WXYZ Detroit To Air Bounce TV

The addition of the Scripps ABC affiliate brings U.S. coverage of the African-American targeted diginet to 55%.

Bounce TV, the broadcast TV network for African Americans, today announced that ABC affiliate WXYZ Detroit is adding the multicast channel, the first Scripps station to do so.

The addition of WXYZ drives Bounce TV past 75% penetration of African-American television homes and to nearly 55% of total U.S. TV households.

“Bounce TV is a very meaningful programming option for our digital spectrum and an ideal way to serve the 390,000 African-American households throughout Southeast Michigan. We are delighted to be their exclusive home in Detroit,” said Ed Fernandez, E.W. Scripps divisional general manager and WXYZ VP-GM.

Bounce TV targets African Americans primarily between the ages of 25-54 with a programming mix of theatrical motion pictures, live sporting events, documentaries, specials, inspirational faith-based programs, off-net series including Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids and Soul Train, original programming and more.
