Nexstar Names Guy Jackson, Hattiesburg GM

Jeffrey Guy, a broadcast executive with 28 years of sales and management experience, moves from South Bend’s WBND, WCWW and WMYS to oversee two Mississippi stations.

Nexstar Media Group today appointed Jeffrey Guy VP-GM of its CBS affiliates WJTV Jackson, Miss. (DMA 95), and WHLT Hattiesburg-Laurel, Miss. (DMA 168).

The appointment is effective immediately and he Guy will report to Bill Sally, Nexstar SVP and regional manager.

Guy has more than two decades of expertise in local and national sales management, local programming and content, new business development and strategic planning across multiple media platforms.

Prior to joining Nexstar, he was GM of WBND, WCWW and WMYS South Bend-Elkhart, Ind. During his 16-year tenure, he expanded local programming by developing new stations, digital subchannels and unique content partnerships with local sports franchises, including the University of Notre Dame. In addition, he directed the launch of the WBND’s news programming, managing all aspects of local branding, creative development, news set construction and talent recruitment.

Prior to South Bend, Guy was VP-GM of WBUI Champaign-Decatur-Springfield, Ill., where he directed the station launch.

Before that, he held various management positions with TCI cable in central Illinois. He began his broadcast career as an account executive in Decatur, Ill.

Guy is a United States military veteran who has served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Naval Reserve.
