Nexstar Names Tracey Rogers WKRN VP-GM

The Tennessee native and TV news and management veteran returns to Nashville to lead Nexstar's ABC affiliate there.

Nexstar Media Group today appointed Tracey Rogers vice president and general manager of its ABC affiliate WKRN and associated digital services in Nashville (DMA 29). She will assume her new responsibilities immediately and report to Mike Vaughn, SVP and regional manager of Nexstar Broadcasting.

Rogers began her broadcasting career nearly three decades ago in Nashville at WSMV before moving on to WTVF and then to WKRN where she was assistant news director for four years.

She has expertise in local and national sales management, new business development, local news programming and strategic planning across multiple media platforms. Rogers most recently was GM of WMC-TV Memphis.

Prior to that, she was GM of KAIT Jonesboro, Ark., before her time in Jonesboro, she held news director positions at WMC Memphis; WAFF Huntsville-Decatur-Florence, Ala.; and WPSD Paducah, Ky. 

Rogers graduated from Middle Tennessee State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications with an emphasis on broadcast journalism. She is also a graduate of the National Association of Broadcasters Executive Development Program.

She is a current board member of the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters.
