Justice Network Reaches Big Milestones

The Justice Network said that it has hit a milestone with its societal mission to make communities safer through its BeSAFE initiative. After two-and-a-half years on-air, 101 most-wanted fugitives and 103 missing children that have been featured on the multicast network have been captured or returned to their families.

Every hour, 365 days a year, Justice Network features missing children, most-wanted fugitives and safety tips. Thanks to the network’s localized servers, viewers are able to see missing children and fugitives in their area. 

“When we had the idea for Justice’s societal component in 2014, I would have been proud to have had even a fraction of the success we have had. To have reached over 100 most-wanted fugitives captured and missing children returned to their families is simply incredible,” said Steve Schiffman, CEO of Justice Network. “The impact we’ve had in local communities and the ability to engage viewers in a meaningful way shows that you can provide entertainment and do good.”

The BeSAFE initiative is led by iconic crime-fighter John Walsh and features his son Callahan Walsh, child advocate at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as well as Atlanta Police Department’s Sgt. Ralph Woolfolk.

“I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of the Justice Network and the work they do to assist the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (missingkids.org) and law enforcement to find missing children and put bad guys behind bars,” said  Walsh. “Not many networks devote on-air time that makes a difference in communities nationwide and the Justice Network is leading that initiative one capture and rescue at a time.”

Justice said its societal mission is successful thanks to its partnerships with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, CrimeStoppers and local law enforcement. 

“The Justice Network is an excellent partner, and their profile of our Most Wanted fugitives is an important public service,” said David Harlow, acting director of the U.S. Marshals Service. “Tips from their viewers are invaluable to our mission of capturing and bringing these fugitives to justice.”

In total, 692 fugitives and 343 missing children have been featured on the network.
