DMA 16: MIAMI

Keith Jones The New WTVJ 4 P.M. News Anchor

NBC-owned WTVJ Miami (DMA 16) has named Keith Jones as the station’s 4 p.m. news anchor. Jones joins Trina Robinson and will co-anchor the hour-long weekday newscast as well as the 5:30 p.m. newscast.

Additionally, Jones will serve as the lead sports anchor and host of Sports Final. The half-hour locally produced sports show airs Sunday evenings at 11:30 immediately following the station’s late newscast.

Jones joined the WTVJ team in July 2012. Prior to that, he was the morning and noon news anchor at WSTP Tampa. Jones’ journalistic career includes anchoring continuous coverage and reporting from the crash site of United Flight 93 on Sept. 11, and field anchoring and reporting from the scene of nine trapped miners at Quecreek Mine in Pennsylvania.

Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast communication/journalism from Barry University, which he attended on a baseball scholarship.
