‘Millionaire,’ ‘Right This Minute’ Renewed

The game show and the viral video showcase are greenlit by the ABC Owned Television Stations for the 2018-19 season.

The syndicated game show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and viral videos show Right This Minute have been renewed for 2018-19 on the ABC Owned Television Stations, it was announced today by Disney/ABC Home Entertainment and Television Distribution.

Hosted by Chris Harrison and currently in its 16th season in national syndication, Millionaire offers a $1 million prize to each contestant.  In the show’s ladder format, contestants must answer 14 trivia questions correctly with the aid of three lifelines to win $1 million. Since the show debuted in syndication in 2002, contestants have won more than $95 million.

Right This Minute showcases viral videos and the stories behind hot clips being shared around the world.  The 2018-19 season will mark its eighth year on the air and sixth in national syndication.   

Season-to-date (2017-18), both shows are posting year-to-year household ratings gains, according to Disney/ABC.  They are among only four out of more than 30 nationally-syndicated first-run strips that have generated ratings increases this year.
