Griselle Sierra Named KDEN News Director

The Hispanic journalist will oversee news operations at Telemundo’s Denver outlet.

Telemundo-owned KDEN Denver (DMA 17) today appointed Griselle Sierra news director, effective immediately. In this role, she will be responsible for the overall performance of the station’s news department across multiple platforms.

Sierra has more than 20 years of local broadcast experience and she has held numerous newsroom leadership roles all across the U.S. She joined KDEN earlier this year from Wapa América, where she worked for eight years as a general producer and helped the station launch new programming.

Prior to this, Sierra worked as a project manager of special events at HITN TV in New York for two years where she covered the primary elections and inauguration of President Obama.

From 2005 to 2007, she was the managing editor at El Nuevo Día Orlando. Additionally, she served as a senior executive producer at WXTV Univision Nueva York from 2001 to 2004.

In 2000, Sierra launched her career at CNN as a news producer for primetime newscasts.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Sacred Heart University in Puerto Rico.
