Lisa Crane Named EP, Host Of WVTM’s ‘Chronicle’

Hearst-owned NBC affiliate WVTM Birmingham, Ala. (DMA 44), announced Thursday that Lisa Crane’s role will expand to executive producer and host of WVTM 13 Chronicle. She will continue in her role as a member of the WVTM news team.

Chronicle will be a quarterly special that features in-depth, documentary style stories with topics of interest to Central Alabamians. Each special will focus on a single topic.

“Lisa brings experience and in-depth knowledge of Central Alabama,” said WVTM President-GM Hank Price. “We know she is the right person to lead WVTM 13 Chronicle and look forward to the stories and topics her team will bring to viewers.”

Crane grew up in Central Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She spent her early career reporting and anchoring around the country including stops in Washington, Missouri and Georgia.

Crane returned to the Birmingham area after starting a family and began working at WVTM in 2007, originally as a morning reporter.

The first installment and topic of WVTM 13 Chronicle will be announced this fall.
