ICIT’s Parham Eftekhari To Speak At CBR 2019

Parham Eftekhari, executive director of a leading cybersecurity think tank, will participate in a fireside chat at TVNewsCheck’s second annual Cybersecurity for Broadcasters Retreat.

A nationally recognized educator, Eftekhari leads the Institute for Critical Infrastructure Technology, which provides non-partisan research and education to public, private and legislative stakeholders. He regularly leads research and awareness engagements that help shape national conversations about critical infrastructure resiliency. Eftekhari has also contributed to dozens of research publications, briefings and events at institutions including the U.S. Congress, RSA, the World Bank and C-SPAN.

At CBR 2019, Eftekhari will talk about emerging cybersecurity threats; communicating with the C-suite about investing in security; and the latest technologies being used and developed to thwart cyber crime.

Set for Feb. 20-21 at the Hyatt Grand Cypress hotel in Orlando, Fla., Cybersecurity for Broadcasters Retreat gathers the growing number of IT and security executives, managers and professionals being recruited into the television industry, as well as television engineering executives and managers, who often bear the responsibility of securing the production environment.

CBR 2019 will open with a two-hour Incident Response Simulation designed to train attendees to react calmly and effectively to a cybersecurity attack.

It will also include educational sessions, such as Ten Steps to Reducing Risk in 2019, and Securing the Production Environment: A Conversation with Technology Vendors. In addition, there are Private Information Exchanges, where IT, security and technology executives, managers and professionals can discuss common concerns in a confidential environment.
