WNYW Ups Dan Bowens To Weekend Anchor

Fox-owned WNYW New York (DMA 1) today promoted Dan Bowens to weekend anchor.

Effective immediately, he will anchor the Fox 5 News at 6 p.m. and the Fox 5 News at 10 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, Bowens will continue to report on various weekday newscasts, write and produce for the station’s Jazz Stories series, and remain host of his true crime podcast, The Tape Room with Dan Bowens.

Most recently, Bowens served as a reporter, covering some of the city’s biggest stories since joining the station in 2010. Prior to this, he was a reporter at WRAL Raleigh, N.C. Previously, he held positions at WINK Fort Myers, Fla., and KEPR Yakima, Wash.

A graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, Bowens holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and journalism.
