Meteorologist Emily Schuitema Joins WOOD
Nexstar-owned NBC affiliate WOOD Grand Rapids, Mich. (DMA 49) has hired Emily Schuitema as a Meteorologist. She joins Storm Team 8 from WSAW Wausau, Wis., where she worked as the morning news meteorologist.
Schuitema is a West Michigan native. She graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 2017 with a degree in climate and meteorology.
During her tenure at the University of Michigan, Schuitema spent the summer of 2015 interning with at WOOD. She also spent another summer working atop Mount Washington taking hourly weather observations and forecasting for hikers on the Appalachian Trail.

I wonder if Emily will be doing weekend weather on Sat & Sun night or if that be Sat or Sun mornings which to me would be a downgrade just my opinion if it is weekend mornings. She will be replacing Kyle Underwood who left Wood tV at the end of 2018.
