Erika Facey-Palmer, Katie Simon Join WISH Indianapolis

Circle City Broadcasting’s CW affiliate WISH Indianapolis (DMA 25) has made two appointments in its news department: Erika Facey-Palmer is manager of content, and Katie Simon is daybreak executive producer for WISH-TV’s News 8.

“We’re adding two major power players in local television journalism to our WISH-TV news operation,” said Al Carl, WISH news director. Erika and Katie bring a vast wealth of experience, as well as diverse leadership and viewpoints to our newsroom and our station.”

Facey-Palmer is an Emmy Award-winning journalist with more than 15 years of editorial and management experience. Originally from New York, she started her career with NBC News. She comes to WISH from WXIA Atlanta.  She has also worked for stations in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., in roles ranging from producing and planning to management.

As manager of content, she will lead News 8’s specialized news gathering teams and the planning and producing of special news event coverage across all WISH platforms. She received her Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism degree from Andrews University and her Master of Arts in mass communication from New York University.

Simon is another television news veteran bringing more than 15 years producing experience to the News 8 team. She joins WISH from WCPO Cincinnati where she was the morning news executive producer. She has also produced for stations in Boston and Tampa.

Simon joins WISH’s Daybreak team, replacing Brady Gibson, who was recently promoted to WISH’s assistant news director.

Simon received her Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism degree from the University of Dayton.
