DMA 16: MIAMI

WSFL Names Nicole Wolfe News Director

Scripps is bringing her from WFTS Tampa to build a news operation at the Miami CW affiliate from scratch.

Scripps-owned CW affiliate WSFL Miami-Ft. Lauderdale (DMA 16) has appointed veteran journalist Nicole Wolfe as news director, effective next month.

In her new role, Wolfe will build the WSFL news operation from the ground up, leading the station’s broadcast and digital teams serving South Florida communities.

Wolfe joins WSFL from WFTS, the Scripps-owned Tampa ABC affiliate, where she currently is assistant news director.

“Nicole’s successful track record of leadership, working closely with teams of reporters and photojournalists for more than two decades, makes her the ideal person to build and lead our new news operation,” said Bill Siegel, vice president and general manager of WSFL.

Wolfe has worked in news management roles at WCMH Columbus, Ohio; WTXF Philadelphia; KDVR-KWGN Denver; KTVT Dallas; and WOFL Orlando, Fla.

Wolfe received a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.
