KYW Philly Adds Llarisa Abreu To Weather Team

CBS owned KYW Philadelphia (DMA 4) has hired Llarisa Abreu as the newest member of its Eyewitness Weather team.

She joins Janelle Burrell, Jim Donovan and Chandler Lutz for Eyewitness News This Morning weekdays 4:30-7 a.m.  Her weather reports also stream daily on CBSn Philly.

Abreu comes to the Delaware Valley from San Diego, where she was the weekend weather anchor at KNSD. In 2019, she was on duty for coverage of the San Diego wildfires, and won an Emmy for team coverage.

She honed her skills at AccuWeather in State College, Pa., where she delivered weather reports in both English and Spanish. While there, she worked with KYW Chief Meteorologist Kate Bilo and identified her as someone whose expertise and delivery she wanted to emulate. They remained in contact over the years, and Abreu says she is now thrilled to work alongside her mentor.

Abreu graduated from Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla.
