WTXL Tallahassee Adding Weekend Morning News

Scripps-owned WTXL Tallahassee, Fla. (DMA 109), is introducint weekend morning news to its lineup beginning Oct. 3. Those newscasts will air live on Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

“I am excited for the ABC 27 team to help families in the Big Bend and South Georgia start their weekend mornings off right, with the news that’s impacting their communities”, said WTXL News Director Vicki Bradley.

Veronika Vernachio joins the station as weekend morning anchor. The West Palm native and University of Florida graduate is returning home to the Sunshine State.  She most recently was a reporter at Scripps-owned KGUN Tucson, Ariz.

“Our goal at ABC 27 is to report essential journalism through meaningful storytelling. We’re excited that we’ll be bringing this same approach to weekend mornings, where viewers don’t currently have options,” said WTXL General Manager Matt Brown.
