News Storytelling Under Stress To Be Examined At NewsTECHForum

News video storytelling is constantly evolving, but 2020 prompted particular ingenuity and creativity that will be the subject of a panel — Novel Approaches to News Storytelling Under Stress — at TVNewsCheck’s NewsTECHForum conference in December.
Fernando Hurtado, producer/editor, NBCLX; Imaeyen Ibanga, senior producer/presenter at AJ+; Angie Lassman, meteorologist at NBCU-owned WTVJ Miami; and Kim Voet Potter, news director at Graham Media-owned WDIV Detroit will join TVNewsCheck Editor Michael Depp for a panel at 1 p.m. ET on Dec. 16 in which they share selections from their recent work and explore the narrative techniques and technologies they used to bring the work together.

“NewsTECHForum has long been about showcasing innovative work, and this year provided such rich subject fodder that the video reporting in response to it has gone to a whole new level,” Depp said. “Fernando, Imaeyen, Angie and Kim are doing extraordinary things in terms of their work on the pandemic, viewers’ isolation, explanatory reporting as well as climate change. They represent a very broad range of topics, perspectives and reporting styles.

NewsTECHForum will also feature sessions on Pivoting the Newsroom to Crisis; How Will Digital and Streaming Storytelling Evolve in 2021?; Advances in IP and Cloud Workflows; Remote Production: From Exception to Option; Standing Out on Social in a Historic Year; and News 2022: The Reshaping of Programming, Technology and Audience.
Attendees will participate in the live, daily, two-and-a-half-hour streamed sessions on Zoom Webinar, where they can pose questions to speakers, participate in live audience polling and wrap up the day with half-hour, open-mic Roundtables on key issues.

How about a forum on something more basic like fairness and accuracy? As it is, journalists are little more than mechanical monkeys clinking tin cymbals of Democrat and leftist propaganda.
