Chad Sabadie Joins ‘WDSU News This Morning’

Hearst-owned NBC affiliate WDSU New Orleans has hired Chad Sabadie to join Randi Rousseau as co-anchor of WDSU News This Morning, weekdays from 4:30 to 7 a.m., beginning in mid-April.

Sabadie joins WDSU from WVLA-WGMB, the NBC-Fox duopoly in Baton Rouge, La., where he’s been evening news anchor since 2017 and morning news anchor from 2015-17.

Sabadie’s early career focused on sports. Prior to moving to Baton Rouge, he was a sports anchor/reporter for WVUE, the Fox affiliate in New Orleans. Before that, he was the sports anchor for WBRZ Baton Rouge and from 2005 to 2007 he was sports director at WABG Greenville, Miss.

Sabadie’s career has taken him as far away as London, England, where he was a production assistant at Sky Sports Network, and California, where he was an anchor for the University of Southern California campus network. However, Sabadie is no stranger to New Orleans; he was born and spent most of his childhood growing up in Southeast Louisiana.

Sabadie attended Pope John Paul II high school in Slidell, La., where he won two state championships in baseball. He received his bachelor’s in journalism from Louisiana State University and his master’s in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California.
