CBS-owned WCBS New York will host a one-hour debate between leading contenders in the New York City Democratic Mayoral Primary on Thursday, June 10 (7-8 p.m.). The debate will air live on WCBS, sister station WLNY (with Spanish-language translation), CBSN New York, CBSNewYork.com and radio co-sponsors WCBS-AM and WINS-AM. Common Cause New York is also a debate partner and has participated in forming the debate rules and criteria for selecting participants.

The debate organizers have extended invitations to five leading contenders (listed alphabetically): Eric Adams, Kathryn Garcia, Scott Stringer, Maya Wiley and Andrew Yang. Garcia, Stringer, Wiley and Yang have confirmed their participation, while Adams has declined.

The debate, which will originate from the CBS Broadcast Center in Manhattan, will be moderated by WCBS anchor Maurice DuBois and political reporter Marcia Kramer. Lynda Lopez from WCBS-AM and Juliet Papa from WINS-AM will pose questions to the candidates, originating from their respective radio studios.

This will be the last televised debate prior to the start of early voting on June 12. Primary election day is Tuesday, June 22.

Before the general election on Nov. 2, WCBS and its partners plan to hold a debate between the leading candidates for New York City mayor on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m.
