Cox Media Names General Counsel-Corporate Secretary

Eric D. Greenberg joins from the law firm Perkins Coie to oversee all legal responsibilities for CMG’s business and operations, as well as corporate governance, transactions, and regulatory compliance.

Cox Media Group has appointed Eric Dodson Greenberg executive vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary effective Aug. 16. He will report to Dan York, CMG President-CEO and joins from the law firm Perkins Coie, where he is a partner in the mergers & acquisitions and technology transactions practice groups.

In his role at CMG, Greenberg will be in charge of all legal responsibilities for CMG’s business and operations, as well as corporate governance, transactions, and regulatory compliance.

Greenberg has experience in the technology, media, entertainment and telecom industries. He has been ranked as a leading lawyer by Chambers USA in both its broadcasting and media-and-entertainment categories, designated by the Legal 500 in its 2021 Hall of Fame category for media and tech transaction lawyers, and is a winner of the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Award for work on novel broadcast spectrum sharing agreements.

A New York native, Greenberg has lived in the Washington, D.C., area since attending George Washington University Law School, where he graduated with high honors. He received a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in political science from Tufts University.
