KTRK Houston Sets Streaming Town Hall On Astroworld Festival Tragedy Today

ABC-owned KTRK Houston is hosting an exclusive streaming town hall, Action 13: Astroworld Festival Tragedy, today, Nov. 11 (7-8 p.m. CT), to discuss the tragedy and update the viewers with the latest investigation into the eight deaths at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival. Eyewitness News anchor Tom Abrahams hosts the town hall.

Multiple individuals died due to the chaos at the event, and more than 300 injuries were reported at the festival, which drew approximately 50,000 attendees to NRG Park Friday night.

Earlier this week, Abrahams met with the Houston Chronicle journalists to examine the timeline of events related to when the festival emergencies began, when the concert promoters were informed of a “mass casualty event,” and when the concert ended.

On Thursday, Abrahams is joined by KTRK reporters Mycah Hatfield and Roxie Bustamante as they sit down with a panel of concert attendees, local leaders and experts to discuss the timeline of events and answer Houstonian’s questions about the festival tragedy.

Panelists include:

  • Briana Breaux and Timothy Le, Astroworld attendees and witnesses
  • Bun B, Houston rapper
  • Congressman Al Green
  • Keith Still, crowd science expert
  • Steve Shellist, legal analyst

Viewers are encouraged to submit their questions at ABC13.com or through the ABC13 news app for possible inclusion in Thursday’s town hall.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

The virtual town hall will stream exclusively on ABC13.com, ABC13’s smartphone app, and ABC13’s connected TV apps on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV and Google TV.
