KXAN Austin Ups Haley Cihock To News Director

Nexstar Media Group’s NBC affiliate KXAN Austin, Texas, has promoted Haley Cihock to news director, effective immediately.

With 23 years of news experience, she will oversee the newsgathering operations of KXAN, KXAN.com and their related digital, mobile and social media applications.

Cihock is a Texas native and University of Texas graduate with a BA in journalism and most recently was the station’s assistant news director.

“Haley has proven herself as a top performer in the KXAN newsroom for 23 years, including the past five years as assistant news director,” said Eric Lassberg, KXAN vice president and general. “She embodies KXAN’s core values, understands and executes our brand promise on a daily basis and is without a doubt the best person to continue KXAN’s winning ways and lead our newsroom to even greater performance.”
