Gray Names New GMs In Wichita, Springfield

David Herrmann is promoted to general manager of KWCH-KSCW in Wichita, Kan., while Patience Hettrick is upped to general manager of WGGB/WSHM-LD in Springfield, Mass.

Gray Television announced Tuesday the promotions of David Herrmann to general manager of KWCH (CBS) and KSCW (CW) in Wichita, Kan., and of Patience Hettrick to general manager of WGGB (ABC) and WSHM-LD (CBS) in Springfield, Mass. Both promotions are effective today.

David Herrmann

David Herrmann has been director of sales at KWCH and KSCW since 2017. A native of Wichita, he has worked at every commercial television station in the city over the course of his 32-year career.  Herrmann previously was the local sales manager for Gray’s WSAZ Charleston-Huntington, W.Va., and as the local sales manager of KCTV Kansas City, Mo., which is now also owned by Gray.

Prior to joining KWCH-KSCW, Herrmann was the general sales manager at KAKE Wichita.

He is a graduate of Kansas State University and holds a Mini-MBA from Wichita State University. He is past-president of the Advertising Federation of Wichita, and currently is on the board of a local cancer research charity. Herrmann succeeds Brad Moses, who recently became the general manager of Gray’s WTVG Toledo Ohio.

Patience Hettrick

Since March 2015, Patience Hettrick has been the news director for WGGB and WSHM. In February 2022, she became station manager for the two while continuing as news director.

BRAND CONNECTIONS

She spent the majority of her career at WFSB Hartford, Conn., including as assistant news director. In addition to her work in broadcast news, Patience has also been an adjunct professor at Middlesex Community College in Middletown, Conn., since 2006.  She holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Hartford.
