The chief information and security officers from four major broadcast groups will talk about the most important security issues media companies face in an environment of escalating threat in a must-see session for industry leaders at TVNewsCheck’s TV2025: Monetizing the Future event at the NAB New York Show.

Mike Kelly, CISO of the E.W. Scripps Co.; John McClure, CISO of Sinclair Broadcast Group; Brian Morris, CISO of Gray Television; and Ray Griffin, CISO of Cox Media Group will come together in a panel discussion, Cybersecurity: Strategies for Mitigating Risk in a High Visibility Industry, moderated by Kelly at the Javits Center at 10 a.m. on Oct. 19.

The executives will tackle best practices for government and insurance company compliance, working with broadcast technology vendors to mitigate against risk and training organizations to be more aware and vigilant against phishing and other threats.

“Cybersecurity threats are now omnipresent for broadcasters, too many of which have already experienced their damage firsthand,” said TVNewsCheck Editor Michael Depp. “Mike, John, Brian and Ray will offer the latest best practices information for mitigation, practices that need to be heard all the way up to the c-suite and put in place at all levels of an organization to adequately combat these threats.”

The speakers will also be participants in TVNewsCheck’s Cybersecurity for Broadcasters Retreat, happening Oct. 17-18 at the Javits Center.

Additional TV2025 panels will cover Creating More Content for a Multimedia Audience; How Data Will Redefine the TV/Audience Relationship; Technology, Data and the Future of Local TV Advertising; NextGen TV, Streaming and the Future of Local Media; and Technology, the Cloud and the Station Group of the Future. Depp will also moderate an annual conversation with station group leaders on the state of the industry, and E.W. Scripps’ President and CEO Adam Symson will accept TVNewsCheck’s Station Group of the Year Award on behalf of his company.
