From video acquisition to multimedia content production and distribution, storytelling continues to be influenced and enhanced by remote workflows. The webinar will examine new innovations that have emerged during 2022 at broadcasting companies and their technology partners. Speakers will look to the emerging pain points and how can they be addressed, along with how remote production is affecting new facilities and studio design.

Speakers:

Don Roberts

Don Roberts, SVP of Sports Engineering and Production Systems, Sinclair Broadcast Group — He is responsible for the implementation of the company’s strategic technical plan that deploys an IP infrastructure and allows for future growth in sports technology, operations and production for all of the company’s sports properties, which include 20 regional sports networks, Marquee Sports Network and Tennis Channel.

Previously, he was responsible for the planning, development and deployment of the company’s master control and production control initiatives as well as future news technology upgrades and workflows.

Roberts began his career with UA Columbia Cablevision of Westchester, and has held technical positions with USA Networks, multiple post-production facilities as well as engineering management positions at Viacom and Sinclair television stations.

Throughout his 20-plus year career at Sinclair, Roberts has held various engineering positions including senior director of television systems, regional engineering manager and director of engineering and operations at WUHF.

He is a member of SBE, SMPTE and sits on various manufacturers advisory boards.

Clint Moore

​​Clint Moore, Director of Broadcast Operations, Gray Television — He started his career in TV as a photographer/editor in the mid ’90s. He has worked as a general assignment, bureau, investigative and special projects photographer. He also has time as a chopper photographer and SNG truck operator.

Moore made his move into operations in 2006 with Raycom Media, where he worked to help develop efficient workflows with new technologies to allow field and station crews to achieve their daily goals. He currently serves as director of broadcast operations for Gray TV, helping the company with TMP projects and most recently the work from home initiatives to allow a majority of a stations staff to work remotely. When not at work, he enjoys running and watching Alabama football.

Brad Plant

Brad Plant, Executive Director of Technology, WLS-TV Chicago — He joined WLS Chicago in March of 2021. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the technology department for the market’s number one station, Plant draws on his extensive experience to help plan and execute long range strategies, leveraging cutting edge technologies and modern workflows.

Prior to joining WLS, Plant spent six years with the NBC Owned Television Stations, focusing on media technology strategies and helped architect some of the industry’s most state -of-the-art news facilities, focusing on modern IP, virtualized and cloud technologies and workflows. Plant also spent several years on the vendor side of the industry after launching his career as a systems integrator. Plant is or has been involved with several industry organizations such as SMPTE, Society of Broadcast Engineers and the Technical Emmy committee under the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, with the focus of industry growth through education.

Frédéric Roux, SVP Enterprise Sales, Worldwide, Dalet

Frédéric Roux

Frédéric Roux joined Dalet as an account manager for CBC Broadcasting (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) in September 2000. After years of proven success driving the CBC business, he transitioned to the sales director role, followed by the VP of sales, Americas, where he successfully built the brand in both North and Latin America. In this role he helped to design some of the most complex and progressive media workflow solutions and projects for some of the largest media organizations in the industry. Roux continued his upward trajectory, becoming the SVP of sales, worldwide, overseeing, the Americas, EMEA and APAC.

Before joining Dalet in 2000, Roux worked at TAK, a joint project of interactive television by Thomson Multimedia and Microsoft, in developing new online services. He also worked at Bouygues Telecom and T.P.S. (Télévision Par Satellite) on I.T. oriented projects.

Roux holds a M.Sc. degree in engineering from the Ecole Centrale de Lyon and an M.A. degree in Management and Marketing from the University Paris Dauphine. Roux is passionate about the media world and how to leverage technological innovation to tell better stories.
