Scripps Sports Taps Quinn Pacini As Operations VP

The GM of two Scripps Montana stations will now be responsible for Scripps’ live sports and sports-related content presentation. He will serve as the primary lead with the company’s internal production team, local affiliates, talent and production partners.

Quinn Pacini, vice president and general manager of Scripps-owned KBZK Bozeman, Mont., and KXLF Butte, Mont., has been named vice president of broadcast operations for Scripps Sports. He will start in that role May 22. Jon Saunders, a VP of local media operations, will be the stations’ interim GM until a replacement can be found for Quinn.

Pacini will be responsible for Scripps’ live sports and sports-related content presentation. He will serve as the primary lead with the company’s internal production team, local affiliates, talent and production partners.

Pacini has been a committee member of Scripps Sports since it was announced by the E.W. Scripps Co. in December 2022. He has led the efforts to launch and generate revenue as the official media rights holder of the Big Sky Conference (2022-present).

From 2015 to 2022, Pacini was general manager of Learfield at Montana State, where he led the multimedia revenue, operations and negotiations.

“Quinn is a terrific addition to the growing Scripps Sports team,” said Brian Lawlor, Scripps Sports president. “His experience in the sports industry and his significant knowledge of live-game production and in-game viewing experience will be valuable to our company as we prepare to launch our first sports franchise with the WNBA.”

Scripps Sports announced an agreement with the WNBA on April 20 to televise 44 games on Ion on Friday nights during the regular season starting May 26. On May 4, it announced a deal with the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League for rights to televise all non-nationally exclusive Golden Knights games with full distribution on cable, satellite and over-the-air television.
