A disrupted media ecosystem and an unfavorable regulatory environment have upped the ante for TV station group leaders determined to transform their businesses into high-profile, multiplatform enterprises serving large and engaged audiences. TVNewsCheck’s Local TV Strategies conference will challenge the “death of linear TV” narrative with a day of conversations about reinventing business models.
Set to take place Oct. 9 at NAB Show New York, Local TV Strategies will gather station group C-suite leaders, ad agency chiefs, financial analysts, futurists and cutting-edge technologists to frame up an alternate narrative for local television’s future.
“Every day, local broadcasters are bombarded with forecasts of their industry’s decline,” said Michael Depp, chief content officer for NewsCheckMedia and TVNewsCheck’s editor. “Local TV Strategies will counter that narrative with real-world financial forecasting, leadership perspectives and hands-on ideas for reinventing business models.
“The reality is that local TV is evolving into the next stage of its business life, one that requires adaptive, multiplatform strategies and culture changes,” Depp said. “This conference will address the cornerstones of those strategies — streaming and FAST distribution and monetization; reinvigorating linear TV and expanding multiplatform advertising; NextGen TV’s ROI and, critically, the adoption of generative AI to drive efficiencies and revenue.”
Local TV Strategies, a reimagining of what was previously known as TV2025: Monetizing the Future, will also feature a VIP AI Tour of the NAB Show New York exhibition floor where attendees can see the AI technology in action and talk with futurists about its implications for their stations.
