The three off-net series will join the network's lineup of procedural dramas and movies beginning next year.
Ion Adds ‘Psych,’ ‘Monk,’ ‘House’ To Prime
Ion Television announced today that it has acquired the rights to Psych and Monk from Universal Cable Productions and House from Universal Media Studios.
As part of the content package, Ion attains the right to air six and future seasons of the detective series Psych, marking the first time the series has been syndicated on a broadcast network. Meanwhile, the Emmy-winning Monk comes to Ion with all eight complete seasons. Additionally, Ion obtains rights to the Emmy-winning medical drama House starting in fall 2012 airing two times per week for one year.

The three series join Ion Television’s primetime schedule along with the off-net series Without a Trace, Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer and Ion’s first original police drama, Flashpoint.

I think the article forgot to add the Canadian series “The Border” to the list of shows airing on Ion’s primetime lineup. But it’s good to see Ion Television is going to be adding other shows, because “Criminal Minds”, “Ghost Whisperer” and “Without a Trace” take up too much of the network’s whole schedule to begin with; hopefully, they will add more dramas and comedies soon.

Since I have only antenna tv and haven’t/don’t watch CBS; can’t get NBC and CW only occaisonally this new programming is very welcome! I only got to see a season or two of Monk when it was on NBC and know nothing about Psych. While I do watch House, I have missed several episodes. Now if they could just rotate the movies a bit !
