NBC O&Os Add ‘Steve Harvey’ For 2012

The 10 stations will carry the new show from Endemol USA that will debut in syndication next fall. The one-hour show will be based largely on Harvey’s relationship advice books.

Steve Harvey is a go for fall 2012. Today, 10 NBC owned-stations picked up the talk/comedy program, which is produced by Endemol USA and is being distributed by NBC Universal.

The NBC Owned stations picking up the show: WNBC New York, KNBC Los Angeles, WMAQ Chicago, WCAU Philadelphia, KNTV San Francisco, KXAS Dallas, WRC Washington D.C., WTVJ Miami, KNSD San Diego and WVIT Hartford.

The one-hour show will be based largely on Harvey’s relationship advice books, including Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.

Harvey is in his second year as host of syndicated game show Family Feud and he hosts the long-running morning radio show, The Steve Harvey Morning Show.

Steve Harvey joins Disney-ABC’s Katie with Katie Couric as the most likely talk shows in a crowded fall 2012 field to move forward.

“Just to have the NBC O&Os — you have the launch group, so other station groups will pick it up,” says Bill Carroll, EVP and director of programming at Katz Television Group.
