The classic TV diginet is adding affiliates in Atlanta; Las Vegas; Buffalo, N.Y.; Lexington, Ky.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Idaho Falls in January.

Antenna TV, Tribune Broadcasting’s classic TV multicast network, celebrates one year on air with clearances on 59 television stations across the country.

In the first year on air, Antenna TV has cleared 57% of the country with affiliation agreements covering eight of top 10 U.S. markets, including WPIX New York, KTLA Los Angeles and WGN Chicago, and 19 of top 25 markets.

This January, Antenna TV will add additional affiliates including: WATL Atlanta; KSNV Las Vegas; WGRZ Buffalo, N.Y.; WTVQ Lexington, Ky.; WRCB Chattanooga, Tenn.; WANE Fort Wayne, Ind.; and KPVI Idaho Falls. These new affiliates will increase Antenna TV’s reach to 59 markets across the U.S. covering 57% of TV households.

In addition to Tribune and Local TV, Antenna TV has partnered with several broadcast groups including Cox, Gannett, LIN, Media General and Capitol Broadcasting.

Last January, Antenna TV made its debut with The Three Stooges. On Jan. 1, 2012 Antenna TV will air a Three Stooges Marathon from 8 a.m. ET to midnight to commemorate the anniversary.

“The response to Antenna TV from viewers and stations has been overwhelming, we are excited to continue to grow and expand the network in the coming year,” said Sean Compton, President of Programming for Tribune Broadcasting.

It’s funny reading about dueling oldies networks on the same day – although MeTV has more clearance Antenna is on much better and bigger stations. I love Me but they’re hard to find on the dot three and fours on WXYNobody.

In Indianapolis, Antenna TV airs on the .2 of the Fox affiliate (a Tribune station) and Me-TV will launch on the .3 of the NBC affiliate in place of the departing Universal Sports. Between the two, the best TV series of the 1950s through 70s will once again be available over-the-air. Just another reason to cut the cord.
It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Me-TV gets higher ratings than NBC if the station promotes it. I’d watch The Dick Van Dyke Show over Whitney.
