KNSD Adds Christine Haas As Evening Anchor

NBC-owned KNSD San Diego (DMA 28) announced that Christine Haas will join its evening anchor team starting Monday, Jan. 23.  Haas joins Catherine Garcia on the anchor desk for NBC 7 San Diego News at 4 p.m. and Mark Mullen for NBC 7 San Diego News at 5 p.m.

Haas comes to KNSD from KHOU Houston, where she has been the morning anchor for the last three years. Prior to that, she was the main anchor for five years at KVUE Austin, Texas.

Haas has received several local Emmy awards and a national Edward R. Murrow award for a story exposing abusive spending with the Small Business Administration. That story was entered into congressional evidence as part of a government investigation.

Haas is a graduate of Illinois State University.
