Alexis Rivera Joins WSVN’s ‘Today In Florida’

Alexis Rivera has been named co-anchor of Today In Florida, the 5-10 a.m. news block on Sunbeam’s Fox affiliate WSVN Miami (DMA 16).

Rivera joined the station in April 2011 as a general assignment reporter and immediately became a fill-in anchor for the morning news.

She will join anchors Christine Cruz and Diana Diaz along with meteorologist Julie Durda beginning April 30.  She replaces Richard Lemus who is leaving WSVN to pursue other interests.

Prior to joining WSVN, Rivera spent two years in West Palm Beach, Fla., at WPBF as a reporter/fill-in anchor.

Rivera is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and has a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Miami.
