KOMU Moves Rosie Newberry to Noon & 5 P.M.

Rosie Newberry, a member of the Live Doppler 8 First Alert weather team at NBC affiliate KOMU Columbia, Mo. (DMA 138), recently began serving as the station’s daytime weathercaster. Newberry will provide forecasts and weather information during KOMU 8 News at noon and 5 p.m.

Newberry is pursuing a master of science degree in meteorology. She started with KOMU in 2010 and served as a weekend weathercaster and a fill-in weekday weathercaster.

KOMU 8 is an auxiliary enterprise of the University of Missouri and is expected to generate all revenues for station operations. Its operations and investments in broadcast technology are funded entirely by advertising and retransmission revenues. The station receives no funding from the university or state.
