WMAQ Chicago To Celebrate Black History Month

Beginning Feb. 1, NBC-owned WMAQ Chicago (DMA 3) will celebrate Black History Month with a series of special reports that will air weekly on NBC 5 News at 5 p.m. The theme of the month-long series is “Shaping a News Generation.”

Each week will feature an outstanding individual who is making a difference in their field of expertise. In addition, throughout the month a series of vignettes will be airing on WMAQ and Cozi TV (which it airs on ch. 5.2) featuring individuals in four areas — arts and entertainment, business, community and civic — who continue to inspire and lead the community.
