Lee Rosenthal Named KTVU News Director

Cox Media Group taps WXIN Indianapolis’ ND to lead its operations in San Francisco.

It was announced today that Lee Rosenthal has been named news director at Cox Media Group’s Fox affiliate KTVU San Francisco (DMA 6). Rosenthal’s first day will be April 22. He will succeed Ed Chapuis, who left the station in January.

Rosenthal comes to KTVU from WXIN Indianapolis where he was news director the last four years. While there he was honored with a number of industry accolades, including: two Associate Press Awards, one Regional Emmy Award and an Indiana Broadcasters Association Award for Best Community Involvement. Rosenthal was also named to the Top 40 under 40 by the Indianapolis Business Journal.

Before working at WXIN, Rosenthal was an executive producer at WBNS Columbus, Ohio, for three years. Prior to his stint in Columbus he was a news producer at WFTS Tampa, Fla. He’s also worked at WVLT Knoxville, Tenn., as an executive producer/anchor and reporter and he got his start at WBNG Binghamton, N.Y., as a producer/anchor and reporter.
