ABC’s Fall Lineup Features Overhauled Tues.

ABC is going to try to dig itself out of the ratings basement again this fall with a heavily reworked primetime lineup it’s previewing to media buyers at its upfront presentation today. The No. 4-ranked network will play off hits with four new comedies, including Conan O’Brien’s Super Fun Night with Rebel Wilson that will lead out of top-rated Modern Family on Wednesdays. It is trying again to find a Thursday hit with Once Upon a Time spinoff Once Upon a Time in Wonderland leading the night at 8 p.m. Wonderland is one of four new dramas.

Kicking off the week for ABC this fall is aging reality competition Dancing with the Stars. But it will air on only one night, Mondays at 8 p.m. followed by the returning romantic drama Castle at 10 p.m.

ABC is completely overhauling its ailing Tuesday lineup with the Joss Whedon drama Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. The comedies The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife lead into the new Lucky 7. That drama is about a group of Queens gas station employees who play the lottery together.

ABC’s top-rated comedy Modern Family will continue to anchor Wednesday nights. New in the fall is Back in the Game. The sitcom stars Maggie Lawson as an All-Star softball player who blows her career. At 9:30 p.m., SFN leads into Nashville, which is returning for season two.

On Thursdays, Wonderland will lead into long-running Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal.

Meantime, first-year sitcom The Neighbors is returning for a second season but it’s moving from Wednesday to Friday. It will lead out of the returning Tim Allen comedy Last Man Standing. Neighbors is taking the place of Reba McEntire’s axed Malibu Country.

Saturdays in the fall will be set aside for college football.

On Sundays, ABC’s lineup remains mostly intact: America’s Funniest Home Videos, Once Upon a Time and Revenge. But new at 10 p.m. is Betrayal. It’s a drama about a woman who has an affair with a lawyer who is defending a murder suspect that her husband is prosecuting.
