‘RightThisMinute’ Expands Station Roster

MGM Television’s syndicated viral video program adds a weekend edition and continues its national rollout, adding 41 stations in 38 markets, including New York (WNBC), Los Angeles (KABC) and Chicago (WCIU-WCUU).

RightThisMinute, a syndicated strip from MGM Television reporting on viral videos, has broadened its national footprint with the addition of 41 stations in 38 new markets (18 of the top 20), including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and Boston.

In addition to the expansion currently underway, RightThisMinute has added a weekend version of the show. Premiering in most markets on Sept. 16, the new weekend edition will feature “best of” segments highlighting the hottest videos of the week, as well as freshly-produced content.

New markets or stations for the weekend or weekday strip include New York (WNBC), Los Angeles, (KABC), Chicago (WCIU-WCUU), Boston (WLVI), Washington (WUSA) Atlanta (WSB), Houston (KPRC),  Minneapolis (KARE), Miami (WPLG), Sacramento (KXTV), St. Louis (KDSK) Milwaukee (WJDT-WMLW), Charlotte (WSOC), Las Vegas (KLAS), Oklahoma City (KFOR/KAUT), Austin (KEYE), Buffalo (WKBW), Dayton (WHIO), Portland, Maine (WCSH), among others.

The new stations represent some of the largest groups in broadcasting, including: NBC, ABC, Gannett, Post-Newsweek, Sunbeam, Sinclair, Granite, Hubbard and Journal.

RightThisMinute is syndicated by MGM Television and produced by MagicDust Television, in partnership with Cox Media Group, Raycom Media and E.W. Scripps. The program is seen by about a million daily viewers.

Other markets where the show currently airs include: Detroit, Seattle, Phoenix, Tampa, Denver, Cleveland, Orlando, Indianapolis, Baltimore, San Diego, Kansas City, Cincinnati, West Palm Beach, Birmingham, Ala., and Richmond, Va.

Last fall, RightThisMinute.com launched a digital feature, “My Channel,” which invites viewers to work virtually alongside RightThisMinute’s 24-hour news staff to submit videos they’ve captured, produced personally or discovered online.
