Ion Adds Season Seven Of ‘Psych’

The 15 episodes of the USA Network hit are in addition to seasons 1-6 and the deal also includes rights to future seasons.

Ion Television today announced it is picking up season seven of USA’s hit series Psych. The deal with NBCUniversal Cable & New Media Distribution adds all 16 new episodes to Ion’s existing library of seasons 1-6 of Psych and includes rights to future seasons.

Recently renewed for its eighth season, Psych, produced by Universal Cable Productions, is currently the longest running original series on USA.

“As we expand our longstanding relationship with NBCUniversal, we are very pleased to make the latest season of Psych available to our audience,” said Brandon Burgess, chairman-CEO of Ion Media Networks. “We’re excited to double down on the bet we made by adding Psych, a show that has consistently delivered a wide range of viewers since joining our lineup in 2011.”

Psych is executive produced by Steve Franks, Kelly Kulchak and Chris Henze, from Universal Cable Productions, in association with Tagline Pictures. Mel Damski serves as executive producer/director. Saladin K. Patterson, Andy Berman and Todd Harthan are co-executive producers/writers. Kell Cahoon is consulting producer.
