KCPQ Special Leads To Capture Of Top Fugitive

A special edition of Tribune-owned Fox affiliate KCPQ Seattle (DMA 12), Washington’s Most Wanted, “Operation Zero Tolerance,” that aired last Friday and Saturday led to the capture of Cindy Lou Kreutz, the weekend’s top fugitive.

Kreutz was wanted on $400,000 in outstanding warrants for DUI and DWLS and was arrested late Sunday afternoon (July 21) by Kitsap County Deputies in an RV motorhome behind a residence in South Kitsap. A viewer who watched “Operation Zero Tolerance” spotted Kreutz and called 911 providing dispatch with information concerning the location of the fugitive. Deputies arrested her less than 20 minutes after the 911 call came in.

Washington’s Most Wanted host David Rose said: “Once again, Washington’s Most Wanted’s viewers show how much they care about the safety of our communities. I commend the tipster who helped bring this serial drunk driver to justice.  One life lost is too many and her arrest gets a dangerous fugitive out from behind the wheel.”

Washington’s Most Wanted “Operation Zero Tolerance,” which aired on KCPQ and co-owned MNT affiliate KZJO, focused on the 100 deadliest days on Washington roads. More people lose their lives in alcohol related crashes between Memorial Day and Labor Day than at any other time of the year. “Operation Zero Tolerance” set out to catch drivers wanted on felony DUI warrants and others who already had multiple convictions for DUI and have active warrants again today. The goal was simple; to get dangerous drivers off the street and help prevent new tragedies from happening.

Kitsap County Deputy Scott Wilson said: “Somebody saw that TV special. Somebody knew that she was located in South Kitsap and was able to provide us with what they thought was her location. That turned out to be true. It’s a perfect partnership and a great team effort.”
