Bounce TV Sets More Renewals, New Markets

Gannett renews the African-American multicast network in Atlanta and Washington, Nexstar renews in nine markets through 2017. In addition, WSYR Syracuse, N.Y.; WFFT Fort Wayne, Ind.; WTVW Evansville, Ind.; and WMDN Meridian, Miss., are set to launch.

African-American multicast network Bounce TV today announced  another round of network renewals by current affiliates and launches by new ones.

Gannett Broadcasting has renewed Bounce TV on WUSA Washington and WATL Atlanta.

Nexstar Broadcasting Group has renewed Bounce TV in nine markets through 2017, including: Little Rock, Ark.; Rochester, N.Y.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Peoria-Bloomington, Ill.; Rockford, Ill.; and Monroe, La.  Bounce TV was the first network that Nexstar deployed on a large scale in its digital spectrum.

New stations launching Bounce TV include: WSYR Syracuse, N.Y.; WFFT Fort Wayne, Ind.; WTVW Evansville, Ind.; and WMDN Meridian, Miss.  KMCI  Kansas City also recently launched the network.

Bounce TV has also been renewed by WDEF Chattanooga, Tenn., a Morris Multimedia station, through 2017.

Other major station groups recently renewing Bounce TV include Raycom Media, LIN Television Corp. and Belo Corp.  On the air for just 26 months, Bounce TV is available in all of the top African-American television markets, 89% of African-American television homes and 72% of the total television homes in the United States. The network is now renewed with nearly 50% of its distribution base.
