Telemundo Names Sr. Dir., Government Affairs

Paul Gómez will be based in Washington and work closely with the Comcast and NBCUniversal government affairs leadership to develop and implement government relations strategies to support Telemundo’s business priorities across the company’s various operating units.

Telemundo today appointed Paul A. Gómez to senior director, government affairs, effective immediately.  Based in Washington, D.C., Gómez will report to Melissa Maxfield, SVP, federal government affairs, Comcast, and Joe Uva, chairman, Hispanic enterprises and content, NBCUniversal.

In this new role, Gómez will work closely with the Comcast and NBCUniversal Government Affairs leadership to develop and implement government relations strategies to support Telemundo’s business priorities across the company’s various operating units.

“Paul brings to our team an extensive knowledge of the legislative process and has established credibility with elected officials in both houses of Congress,” said Uva. “He will be instrumental in increasing our presence on Capitol Hill and further strengthening our relationships with these legislative bodies.”

Gómez joins Telemundo from Walmart, where he was director of corporate affairs constituent relations.  He also served as a consultant to Walmart on public, governmental and corporate affairs.  Prior to joining Walmart, he was director of legislative affairs and strategic partnerships at D&P Creative Strategies and, previously, as VP of the Hispanic Lobbyists Association.

 Gómez is a graduate of Marquette University and is currently working on a master’s degree in government from Johns Hopkins University.
