NBC O&Os Reup ‘Meredith’ For Season 2

The new syndicated talker from NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution gets a green light from its anchor station group.

NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution announced Thursday that its freshman syndicated daytime program, The Meredith Vieira Show has been renewed on the NBC Owned Television Stations for its second season.

The program, hosted by journalist and television host Meredith Vieira, premiered Sept. 8 and is currently sold in 98% of the country including the NBC Owned Television Stations.

“We are proud to have Meredith Vieira on our stations for a second season,” said Valari Staab, president, NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations. “Meredith is genuine, smart, warm and funny, and she has our strong support to help her continue to grow her show in this very challenging day part.”

The Meredith Vieira Show has the full commitment and support of NBCUniversal and we could not be happier to bring it back for a second season,” said Ed Swindler, president of NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution and NBC Broadcast Operations. “With its singular host and talented producers, Meredith has grown creatively since launch, continues to gain viewers and we are optimistic it will emerge as a staple in daytime.”

The Meredith Vieira Show is produced and distributed in the U.S. by NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution. Meredith Vieira is executive producer along with Rich Sirop and Michael Glantz.

Most syndicated talk shows start off with a 2 year contract anyway, so this is nothing new.

Well, there go all the 1:05AM KLG & Hoda Today Show repeats for a year or two. My lousy affiliate dropped them so they could rerun Meredith at that hour : (

I doubt anyone cares about either at that time.

Yeah, Insider, my station runs KLG & Hoda at 11 AM (Live With Kelly And Michael runs at 9 AM, with Today’s Take at 10 AM) and it runs Meredith at 2 PM. I watch neither.

Many NBC stations repeat it overnight for a second time, which is what Black Squirrel is referring to (1:05AM and the word REPEATS should have given it away). i was responding to his post that overnight, i doubt anyone cared. During the day, it clearly has viewers.

Uh, Insider, the reason I want the Today repeats back on at 1:05 AM is because sometimes the 10 AM first-runs get interrupted for breaking news either by NBC or my local station, and the late night repeats gave me a chance to see what I missed earlier.

Well, we found the one person who cares.
