Bounce TV Acquires First Off-Net Series

The multicast network bolsters its lineup with Roc and The Parent ’Hood from Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, A Different World from Carsey-Werner and The Hughleys from Twentieth Television. They will form a new programming block starting Mon., Jan. 5.

In its first foray into off-network series acquisition, African-American multicast network Bounce TV has landed the television rights to four shows in individual, multi-year licensing agreements.

The deals add Roc (72 episodes) and The Parent ’Hood (90 episodes) from Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution (WBDTD); A Different World (144 episodes) from Carsey-Werner Distribution; and The Hughleys (89 episodes) from Twentieth Television.

The four series will be scheduled together to create a new lineup leading into primetime, with the network airing two episodes of each show back-to-back Monday-Friday starting at 5 p.m. beginning Monday, Jan. 5, 2015: Roc at 5-6 p.m., The Parent ’Hood at 6-7, A Different World at 7-8 and The Hughleys at 8-9.

“Research shows that our rapidly-growing audience is hungry for great family-friendly comedy series,” said Jonathan Katz, COO of Bounce TV. “These four iconic sitcoms fit beautifully together and will further drive our already-robust ratings and viewership.”
