Journal and Dish Reach Retrans Deal

Dish Network subscribers will continue to receive Journal Broadcast Group stations in nine markets.

Journal Broadcast Group on Thursday announced it has reached a new retransmission consent agreement for carriage of Journal stations by Dish Network in all of Journal’s markets.

They are: Milwaukee (WTMJ); Nashville (WTVF); Las Vegas (KTNV); Green Bay/Appleton, Wis. (WGBA-WACY).; Omaha, Neb. (KMTV); Lansing, Mich. (WSYM); Fort Myers, Fla. (WFTX); Boise, Idaho (KIVI-KNIN); Twin Falls, Idaho (KSAW); and Tucson, Ariz. (KGUN-KWBA).

“We are very pleased to have completed a new multi-year agreement with Dish so that their subscribers will continue to receive our stations’ quality network and local programming in all of our markets,” said Andre Fernandez, president-COO of Journal Communications.

“We’re also pleased that this agreement gives us the opportunity to continue to partner with Dish to serve our communities with valuable programming and initiatives,” he added.

I love those make nice statements the PR people at Dish and Direct, as well as those of the station groups put out. They merely select the appropriate word group, i.e, “We’re very pleased to announce….”; “We look forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship that allows our audiences in xxx markets to continue to enjoy award winning, top rated local news…”. I could go on. I think you all ‘get’ it! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays…
