Sony To Head Sales For ‘Right This Minute’

Deal includes all barter, integration and advertising sales for the MGM-distributed syndicated viral video program beginning Feb. 2.

Right This Minute, the syndicated daily series covering the most captivating Web videos and the stories behind them, has tapped Sony Pictures Television (SPT) for the program’s advertising sales efforts.

Right This Minute, produced by MagicDust Television and distributed by MGM, is in its second season as a nationally syndicated strip – growing over its year-ago ratings by double digits in households and key demos. Additionally, during the November sweep it improved 92% in women 25-54 and 62% in adults 25-54 over the previous year. The program finished November with a 1.7 household rating and 1.0 rating among women 25-54.

“We’re very happy to be representing Right This Minute,” said Amy Carney, president, advertiser sales, strategy and research for SPT. “Right This Minute is a great opportunity for advertisers to have a syndicated program that’s not only day-and-date but also provides multiplatform and customized partnership programs.”

“When it came time to ramp up our advertising sales efforts going in to 2015, Sony Pictures Television was a natural fit,” said Phil Alvidrez, MagicDust executive in charge of production.

Right This Minute is syndicated by MGM Television and produced by MagicDust Television, in partnership with Cox Media Group, Raycom Media and E.W. Scripps. In 2014, the program was picked up by many Fox Television Stations in top markets as a Monday through Friday strip, and is currently cleared in more than 90% of the U.S.
