Kelly O’Connell New KMSP Weekday A.M. Anchor

Kelly O’Connell joins Fox-owned KMSP Minneapolis (DMA 15) as anchor for Fox 9 Morning News from 4:30 to 6 a.m. and The Buzz at 9 a.m., effective Oct. 5. She will anchor Fox 9 Morning News with Dawn Stevens and co-anchor The Buzz alongside Alix Kendall and Keith Marler.

Most recently, O’Connell was morning anchor and reporter for KCPQ Seattle. Prior to that, she was an anchor and reporter at KGAN Cedar Rapids.

Previously, O’Connell worked as a reporter, producer and fill-in anchor for WRBL Columbus, Ga.

She began her career interning for various stations, including KIMT News Channel in Mason City, Iowa; Northwest Community Television in Brooklyn Park, Minn.; KARE Minneapolis and WCCO Minneapolis.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota, O’Connell holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in broadcast journalism and Spanish.
