WFTS Adds Meteorologist Ivan Cabrera

Beginning Sept. 3, meteorologist Ivan Cabrera joins Scripps-owned ABC affiliate WFTS Tampa, Fla. (DMA 13). He will be the primary meteorologist for The Now Tampa Bay, weekdays at 4 p.m., and will also work with chief meteorologist Denis Phillips during ABC Action News evening newscasts from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Prior to joining WFTS, Cabrera worked at CNN. His forecasts were seen on CNN International, CNN and HLN. He also served as a meteorologist for the WSI Corp., which included regular appearances on Fox News Channel.

His career began as a radio weather anchor for AP Network News and radio stations across the United States.

Born in Cuba, Cabrera grew up in Miami. The Florida State University graduate is an Emmy- and Peabody-winning broadcast meteorologist who holds the Television Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.
