AccuWeather Network Introduces MinuteCast, More

AccuWeather today announced new enhancements to AccuWeather Network programming, including the addition of the AccuWeather MinuteCast, increased local and regional weather coverage and continued team expansion. These new developments further enrich the 24/7 HD channel available on Verizon Fios TV and the Verizon Fios Mobile app.

Now on the AccuWeather Network, MinuteCast provides minute-by-minute forecast updates including precipitation type, intensity, and start and end times for top local landmarks. MinuteCast provides precipitation forecasts by exact street address for the next two hours, customized by viewing area.

Newly enhanced local and regional programming across the AccuWeather Network includes additional live breaking weather videos, detailed regional forecast videos, and even more weather forecast data. Weather information and updates available on the Network include the AccuWeather RealFeel Temperature, hourly temperature and precipitation, wind speed and direction, humidity, visibility, UV index, 5-day forecast, animated radar, and more, available 24/7.

Additionally, New York City metro, Philadelphia metro, Mid-Atlantic and New England regions feature a new level of localized weather coverage with exclusive video forecasts for upcoming local area events including sporting events, concerts, and outdoor festivals, plus special forecasts for regional vacation destinations.

Recent team expansion on the AccuWeather Network includes Bernie Rayno’s appointment to chief video meteorologist and lead forecaster, in addition to meteorologists Paul Williams, Cam Tran and Laura Velasquez, and David Brunner, manager of talent performance — a response to increased viewer and carrier demand.
